Jetbrains plugin development - connect to the web?
I'm thinking of making a jetbrains plugin. Before I dive in and learn how to use it, I was wondering - is it possible to connect to an outside site, and to share a link via a custom-made plugin?
As in, can I send data from the client intellij to some external website, and then receive a url, and then share that url (or the contents of the url) to the client?

You can use any network APIs in an IntelliJ plugin. IntelliJ IDEA does not incorporate a Web browser, so you will be able to show the URL to the client, but you won't be able to show an actual Web page inside the IntelliJ IDEA UI.
