Auto scale R Markdown fragment images

I included a markdown fragment html page with includeHTML("filename.html") into a shiny dashboard. The image size of the graph in my markdown file is set ti width/ height = 7.

The problem is now, that the image size is fixed in my dashboard box and when I shrink the browser the image do not scale to a smaller size.

Is there a way to do that?

I also tried to embed the whole markdown html document. Then the image scales to optimal size, but the ccs settings of the markdown are crushing the whole dashboard layout.
