Filtering Material table with i18n using select ICU

Column definition:
<ng-container matColumnDef="modeName">
<th mat-header-cell *matHeaderCellDef mat-sort-header i18n>Mode</th>
<td mat-cell *matCellDef="let row" i18n> {row.modeName, select, mode {mode}} </td>
</ng-container>
Filter function:
applyFilter(filterValue: string) {
this.dataSource.filter = filterValue.trim().toLowerCase();
if (this.dataSource.paginator) {
this.dataSource.paginator.firstPage();
}
}
How to filter data in this column using translated values ({row.modeName, select, mode {mode}})? At this moment it is using original raw values but not the translated ones.
