Solved - Low download speed on clone

Following this request on Twitter, I'm posting the question here.

We're using Azure Devops for more than a month now. But starting, around 2 / 3 days ago, we are experiencing very low download speed when cloning repos from Azure DevOps compared to exactly the same repo (imported from the Azure DevOps one) on Bitbucket as you can see on that image:

Download speed differences

What could explain this difference?
We tried to create a new repo on the same organization and a new one in a different organization: observations are the same.

We didn't had the opportunity (for now) to test the same operation from another location, but there is no proxy that should block anything.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for your help,

EDIT

Test from a totally different location with a different ISP from a different computer. Observations are the same:
Test from different location

EDIT 2 - 2018-11-12 Morning

Without changing anything: everything is working as usual now... Download speed is "normal". Obviously, an issue from Azure DevOps or between ISP and Azure DevOps.
It's back

Did you exclude your (company?) networking layer and tested it on another location/network?

  • We use Azure DevOps for some years on our company and don't have any issues like that. As Rob mentioned, you should check if there's something on your network that can be causing this.

  • As said in the post, we didn't had (for now) the opportunity to test it from another location to exclude (or not) the company network. Everything was working well until now. Just trying to find out other things to look at for now than the network. Thanks for your answers !

  • We tried the same thing from a totally different network (from a different location) even with a different ISP. Resutls are the same: 10MiB/s when cloning from Bitbucket, and only 1MiB/s when cloning from Azure Devops. Original post edited with a screenshot of it. We also highlight in this screenshot a "compression step" that is running on Bitbucket but not on Azure Devops. Could it be an explanation?

  • OK, and now, this morning: everything is working back as normal... We didn't changed anything on our network. Certainly an issue from Azure Devops.
