How to install custom typing .d.ts files to a separate folder rather than node_modules/@types?

In order to add typings files we use npm/yarn with @types/[plugin]
which install to npm_modules/@types folder.

How to change this and redirect default location to a separate folder.

For Example: I am trying to Create a Project in Aurelia. When I setup the project it default added a CUSTOM_TYPINGS folder

Now in future i want to install typings files to this folder then how to do that?

Why would you do that? This is for custom typings. Not for the standard typings that every TypeScript developer and tool expects to find in the standard folder.

  • I have seen some projects where they install custom typings to a separate folder which has sub folders like global and local and they reference all that to a single index.d.ts file at the end.
